A school day
A morning, start to finish
The rooms keep the same order every day, so children know what comes next.
- 8:00 a.m.
Step 1: Arrival
A guide greets each child at the door, in Spanish or English. Children hang up their coats and choose a first piece of work.
- 8:30 a.m.
Step 2: Work cycle
A long, uninterrupted stretch to choose work from the shelves. Guides give short lessons to one child or a small group and then step back.
- 10:00 a.m.
Step 3: Snack
Children prepare snack together and eat when they are hungry. Cleaning up is part of the work.
- 10:45 a.m.
Step 4: The yard
Time outside for running, digging and watering the garden beds, in a shaded yard with an adult at every corner.
- 11:30 a.m.
Step 5: Circle and story
Songs, a story and a goodbye to the morning, in the language of the room.
- 12:00 p.m.
Step 6: Lunch and pickup
Morning children go home. School-day children eat lunch from home, and the youngest rest afterward.
- 1:00 p.m.
Step 7: Afternoon
Art, afternoon work and yard time with both primary rooms together. Pickup is at 3:30 p.m.
Why the order matters
A child who knows what comes next can give the morning full attention. Guides keep the rhythm steady, and they change it only when the weather or a child's needs ask for it.

Come and see a morning
Tours are on weekday mornings, while the rooms are working.
