Questions families ask

If yours isn't here, ask us. We would rather hear it before the tour.

What ages and hours do you have?

We take children from age 2 to age 5, Monday to Friday. Mornings run from 8:00 a.m. to noon, and the school day goes to 3:30 p.m.

How does a tour work?

A tour takes about an hour, on a weekday morning while the rooms are working. You watch, ask questions and are welcome to bring your child. Pick a time when you book, or message us.

What sets tuition?

The room, your child's age and the schedule you pick. We don't print figures here; we go through each part and the figures with you at the tour.

How is a place held, and how does the waitlist work?

Enrollment forms and the deposit hold a place. When a room is full, families join a waitlist by room and schedule, and we offer places in the order families joined. We tell you where you stand.

Is the school licensed, and what are the ratios?

Yes. Felt is licensed by the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department.

Who speaks Spanish and who speaks English?

Saray and Adelita speak Spanish with the children through the morning, and Esaú speaks English in the second primary room. Every guide speaks both with families.

What is a work cycle?

A long, uninterrupted stretch of the morning when children choose work from the shelves. A guide gives short lessons to one child or a small group and then steps back.

What does a mixed-age room mean?

Each primary room holds children of ages 3 to 5. Younger children see what older ones are working on, and older children help with what they know.

How does toilet learning work?

Children in the primary rooms use the toilet on their own, with a guide close by to help. If your child is still learning, tell us at the tour and we will talk it through together.

What do you do on a hard morning?

A guide sits with the child, says what is happening in plain words and offers a quiet corner, a drink of water or a job to do with their hands. We tell you about it at pickup.

Still have a question?

Send it to us in Spanish or English. We reply within one working day.
